The spirit of 700,000 Heures has always been to share time, nurture encounters and then step back, leaving communities free to choose their own path forward. Each journey becomes a chapter shaped by place, people and moment.

This chapter unfolded in Cambodia during the winter of 2018 and spring of 2019.

Our exceptional take on Cambodia.

COMPLETE IMMERSION INTO CAMBODIA

The Cambodian journey with 700,000 Heures unfolded through history, landscapes, and encounters. In Siem Reap, guests settled into a private house and were introduced to the story of Angkor by an archaeologist before exploring the temples, including access to conservation sites and quiet corners away from the crowds. Days moved between temple visits, time with local artists and craftsmen, and moments of rest – from candlelit dinners to evenings under the night sky. The journey continued to Tonle Sap Lake, where floating houses offered a simple retreat shaped by water and daily life. Travellers visited rural villages, experienced traditional ways of moving through the land, and spent time with the Phare Circus community in Battambang. The season offered a gentle immersion into Cambodia’s culture and rhythms.
